CoastSnap is now live!
CoastSnap stands were recently installed at Leithfield Beach, Amberley Beach, Motunau and Gore Bay.
These stands are part of a community monitoring program where people can use their mobile devices to take a photo of the beach state from a fixed point. The observations can be used to track changes in the shoreline and see long term changes in the beach state such as accretion and erosion.
To use the CoastSnap stands simply place your phone sideways in the cradle and take a photo. These can be uploaded directly onto the CoastSnap app, shared via social media with the hashtag #coastsnapbeachname or emailed directly to coastal@hurunui.govt.nz
