Transfer Station Hours and Charges
Easter and Anzac Day - Amended Hours The transfer stations are closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday and Anzac Day. Please note: Culverden transfer station is excluded from the Easter Sunday closure and will open from 2pm to 4pm; as the site is likely to be busy, it maybe necessary to wait to unload. Amberley transfer station is open on Tuesday 22 April from 10am to 4pm. Cash, eftpos and credit cards accepted at all transfer stations; a surcharge applies for paywave. All transfer stations are closed on public holidays. | ||

Is there anything not accepted at Hurunui transfer Stations?
- Commercial volumes of polystyrene (volumes limited to a small domestic trailer).
- Medical waste and needles.
- Hazardous waste unless listed.
- Hot ashes. Cold ashes must be inspected on arrival.
- Large bundles of wire; if bringing small volumes of wire to the transfer stations, notify staff on arrival for inspection.
- Commercial volumes of tyres.
- Sealed drums or containers.
- Asbestos or products containing asbestos, these can be disposed of via EcoDrop in Bromley; contact 03 941 8999 for further information.
- Tree stumps.
Commercial waste operators, skips, demolition and cleanfill is accepted at Amberley transfer station only.
