Installing pipes or cables across road reserve
Trench backfill in carriageways that are not arterial/strategic or business/industrial roads
Backfilling to subgrade level in roads, right of ways, vehicle crossings, carparks and private driveways shall be with hardfill, placed and compacted in 200mm maximum layers. AP65 will be acceptable as hardfill backfill. Use of river or pit run for subgrade improvements is subject to specific Council approval, and will only be approved if its larger particles are not excessively sized and it contains sufficient broken faces and fines.
Compaction
Compaction testing shall be under taken using a Clegg Hammer at maximum 10m spacings on each 200mm layer. The backfill layers shall have a minimum impact value of 25. this test will be undertaken by appointed council staff and an inspection fee may apply.
As Built Plans
An electronic set of plans to be provided of each set of assets installed comprising drawings at a recognised scale. The plans shall be certified by the Consultant or Contractor overseeing the work stating that they are a true and accurate record of all services. Furthermore, where plans have been prepared using CAD techniques a copy of the electronic file shall be provided in either AutoCAD LT format (.dwg or .dxf).
Traffic Management Plan
As a requirement of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, the Local Government Act 1974 and 2002, and the Land Transport Management Act 2003, the applicant and or their contractors will need an approved Traffic Management Plan (TMP) detailing traffic control works prior to any of the works commencing on, or in, the road reserve. This must be prepared in accordance with the NZ code of practice for temporary traffic management CoPTTM regulations.
