Temporary road closures

Making an application to temporarily close a council road.

Before approval to close a road for any activity, written requests are put before council and must be publicly advertised for objections. The request must be with Council 30 working days before the event to allow time to carry out the requirements of the Transport Regulations 1965.

The Temporary Road Closure sub-committee considered and approved the following applications:

  • AmberleyNZ - Saturday 15 February 2025

Hanmer Springs Business Association (co-funded by Hanmer Springs Community Board) - Christmas Parade event. Approved subject to conditions

  • Friday 13 December 2024
  • 5:30pm to 8pm
  • Amuri Avenue - east and west sides of Amuri Avenue.
  • Jacks Pass Road - 20m section of Jacks Pass Road linking east and west sides of Amuri Avenue.
