Drinking Water Standards
The Health (Drinking Water) Amendment Act 2007 (an amendment to the Health Act 1956) came into force on 1 July 2008. This requires Councils to check drinking water, to take all practicable steps to follow the Drinking Water Standards (DWS) and to put in place risk management plans. We are currently complying the standards as set in Drinking-water Standards for New Zealand 2005 (Revised 2018)
