HALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL (CHEVIOT)
Lets Face the Facts
At the February 2024 Cheviot Community Committee Meeting, the Committee agreed to seek feedback from the Cheviot community regarding renovation and ongoing maintenance costs for the Parnassus Hall, Spotswood Hall and the Old Scout Den & Courthouse and how they would be funded going forward. The maintenance plans identify priority works which are identified as the renovation works. These works are considered necessary by Council to bring the buildings up to a desirable condition. The ongoing maintenance cost would be dependent on renovation works happening.
Feedback Document and Survey
Provided below is a document with information about all three buildings as well as estimated costs for remediation work and ongoing maintenance. There is also a link for a 5-10 minute survey for you to fill out. Please make sure to take your time to complete this survey as it will give us a more clear picture of what your community needs.
Renovations and Ongoing Maintenance
The requirement for these decisions needing to be made were brought forward upon condition inspections conducted on all three buildings. These condition inspections revealed that major remediation work is needed on each building. It also identified the ongoing maintenance that would need to be undertaken to keep the building in a desirable condition.
From these condition inspections, maintenance plans were developed for each building, these can be viewed here.
