Networking together for Hurunui
Together Hurunui is looking to the new year to get some key projects rolling.
Projects surrounding mental health, youth, migrants, and newcomers to the Hurunui District will be the sole focus of Hurunui District Council’s (HDC) Together Hurunui Facilitator Natalie Paterson in the early stages of 2022.
Together Hurunui is a network of social services where collective discussions about challenges and gaps within the Hurunui District takes place.
Recently having taken on the role, Natalie is now a key member of HDC’s Community Partnerships Team.
“My job is to look at the needs of people within Hurunui. From here I come up with projects to meet those needs with the support of the Together Hurunui network.”
Natalie’s first project is already in motion. The Together Hurunui network will be receiving professional development training to better assist migrants with the information they need to feel safe and secure within the District.
As Chair of the Together Hurunui network, Mayor Marie Black is passionate about the improving wellbeing of the Hurunui community.
“The Together Hurunui network is instrumental in identifying areas that need our attention. There are a bunch of services ready to help and support anyone who needs them.”
