Route 70 - Waiau River Bridge Closures - CTOC

Kia ora,
The Waiau River Bridge, on the Inland Route 70 to and from Kaikoura, will have multiple closures for the installation of a Bailey Bridge over the river to allow for ongoing repairs to the main bridge.
The closure will occur on the following dates and times:
- Friday, 31 January from 12 am to 6 am Saturday morning.
- Saturday, 1 February from 6 pm to 6 am Sunday morning.
A detour will be in place as follows:
- River Rd along to Leslie Hills Rd and onto Mouse Point Rd (SH 7). This detour is expected to add about 40 minutes extra to travel times.
Road users, heading to Kaikoura, should use SH 1 during these closures.
