E-Cycle of work
Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) youth Blair Milne is on track to a work-ready future at E-Cycle, Amberley.
E-Cycle is a New Zealand owned company that recycles electronic waste ensuring the environments best interests are at heart.
Blair was placed at E-Cycle one month ago and is already reaping the benefits of life in the workforce.
“MTFJ helped me to get out and land this job. Having a routine and purpose has really improved my mental health…. Working makes having free time and doing things for fun more enjoyable because I know I have earned it.”
MTFJ is a Government funded programme connecting local businesses with those displaced by COVID-19, creating sustainable opportunities for both parties.
After a short time working with Blair, E-Cycle Supervisor Aaron Miller has also noticed these positive changes.
“Blair is reliable, and we can always count on him to show up and do the job… You can see the structure and skills he is gaining from working which is great.”
Business Recovery Advisor at Hurunui District Council Chris King is thrilled to be partnering with a business whose vision for youth aligns with MTFJ.
“It’s great having businesses like E-Cycle who provide a pathway for sustainable work… E-Cycle is big on giving youth a chance and that foot in door that they need for their futures in the workforce.”
