Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ)
MTFJ is a Government funded programme connecting local businesses with youth, creating sustainable employment opportunities for both parties. The Hurunui is in its fourth year of programme delivery, supporting 130 young people in the first three years.
Mayor Marie Black said the MTFJ programme is one of the most exciting things to happen within our community. “To partner with our community and be able to build trust between the programme, the businesses and the youth has been invaluable… it’s about knitting our young people with our community and creating these relationships.”
MTFJ can provide mentoring and pastoral support to enable young people to enter the local workforce via community projects, working bees, 1-1 support, workshops, help with driver licensing and getting work ready.
We look to build relationships with local business in order to create a stronger local workforce. There is funding readily available to those businesses wanting to employ via the programme. Please get in touch if you are interested in finding out more.
