Motunau Beach - cnr Lindsay / Island Terrace - Fire Station Mon 17 Feb to Friday 28 March 2025
STARTS: 8am Monday 17 February
ENDS: By 17 March (if not sooner)
- The road will remain open but reduced to one-way traffic with Stop/Go lights. Please reduce speed as directed.
- Normal traffic flow will resume nightly after 6pm.
WHY: Our contractor is digging out the old storm water pipe and replacing it with a new, larger pipe and putting in new sumps.

Rotherham Road South between Leaches Rd & South Street - full road closure - Mon 17 Feb to 5 April 2025
STARTS: Mon 17 February
ENDS: 5 April
These works have been extended by two weeks, to 5 April 2025, due to weather events.
Community feedback has endorsed the decision to extend the closure to allow all works to be completed.
We apologise for the inconvenience.
Hours: 7am - 7pm (approx)
- Rotherham Rd South between Leaches Rd and South St will be closed for approximately 5 weeks, with detours in place.
- The road will open overnight and on weekends, with some light works continuing on weekends.
Detour routes
As there are no fully sealed roads nearby for detouring traffic around the work site, and to avoid congestion, we have utilised north and south-bound detours to avoid tight road widths and for safe traffic movement.
Northbound Traffic: Right onto Leaches Road, left onto Constitution Road, left onto Mt Palm Road, and continue on Heaton Street.
Southbound Traffic: Left onto Heaton Street, continue on MT Palm Road, right onto Constitution Road, left onto Isolated Hill Road, right onto St Leonards Road, exiting onto SH7 Culverden.
Please follow all detour signage and temporary speed limits.
WHY: Road rehabilitation project and drainage improvements.

MainPower is nearing completion of the necessary work on Reserve Road in preparation for the relocation of the Amberley Zone Substation from its current site on Lawcocks Road.
The next phase of this project will require a lane closure on Lawcocks Road, with the following traffic management measures in place from Monday 31 March 2025:
- Westbound traffic will be permitted to exit Lawcocks Road from Amberley, ensuring unobstructed access for emergency vehicles.
- Eastbound traffic will be redirected via Reserve Road to Amberley.
- No entry to Lawcocks Road will be allowed from Balcairn Amberley Road.
This detour will remain in effect for the duration of the works.

Amberley Dedicated Pipeline install - Amberley Beach Road and Hursley Terrace
The water supply upgrade to support the future growth of Amberley Township has begun. Over the next three months, new pipes will be installed along four locations.
- Work Areas: From Double Corner Road to Hursley Terrace Road, Hursley Terrace to Kowai river Rd, along Hursley Terrace unformed legal Rd to the River and Kowai river Rd to the Water treatment plant
- Commencement Date: Wednesday, 26 March 2025
