Updating your dog’s registration details

If any of the following have changed please let us know by using the form below to update our records.

  • Where your dog lives
  • Your postal or physical address
  • Your contact numbers or email address
Update your Dog or Owner information online with this online form.

Has your Dog passed away ?

If you dog has died, please let us update our records. You may also be able to get a partial refund or credit on your registration fees.

Notify Council of Dog Death and get partial registration refund with this online form.

New to the District?

If you have recently moved to the Hurunui District and have bought your dog/s with you please let us know. This allows us to transfer your dog registration to our district.

Let us know about your dog and where you moved from with this online form.

Have your sold one or more of your registered dogs?

The current owner is to complete this form if one or more dogs have moved to a new home.

Please note, the notification of change of ownership for a dog must be by consent of both parties. Animal Management reserves the right to correct unauthorised changes that have been submitted.

Let the Council know if one or move or your dogs has a new home with this online form.

Alternatively you can let us know by emailing dogs@hurunui.govt.nz , phoning us on 03 314 8816, or in person at one of our service centers.

Remember - if your dogs are lost, we can help return them home if they are wearing a current registration tag and are micro-chipped, but we need your contact details in the database to be up to date
