Spotlight on - Jean Laming "The Fool's Dinner"
"When I first came to Christchurch after living abroad for many years I was horrified by the demolition of beautiful heritage houses being replaced by buildings without character, taste or soul. If you take the time to read the Estate agent's notices in front of some of these beautiful houses they say things like, 'wonderful, old family home...rebuild, renovate, remove.' Greed seemed to be the common denominator and so I was motivated to paint a series of pictures relating to the topic." Jean Laming
